[MW:15199] RE: 15192] ER 70S-G has A no ?

Dear Mr. Deni,

ER-70S-G doesn’t have A-no.

As per Sec-IX, Para QW-404.5,

In lieu of an A-Number designation, the nominal chemical composition of the weld deposit shall be indicated on the WPS and on the PQR.

Designation of nominal chemical composition may also be by reference to the AWS classification except for the “G” suffix classification, the manufacturer’s trade designation, or other established procurement documents.

It means you have to write the nominal composition of filler wire instead of A no.

Also the Trade name is essential variable as the suffix ‘G’ has been used.

Hope it clarified.

Regards

Shadab

Subject: [MW:15192] ER 70S-G has A no ?

Dear Experts,

How to explain that ER-70S-G has A No, because A no for GTAW process is an essential variable,

If we refer to ASME sec II C, SFA 5.18 tabel 1 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION REQUIREMENTS FOR SOLID ELECTRODES AND RODS, for ER70S-G is Not Specified..

Thanks for your attention

Best Regards

Deni Rustari
