RT if done after welding & before forming would help in locating the defect in plate stage itself.
If it is not repaired in plate stage i.e. before forming,it may propogate during forming.Hence would pose more repair work.
For some of the material delayed cracking is observed hence RT after forming is also required

This is the case of the vessel where dished end size id 3000 ID and the Dished Ends are 10:1 Torispherical, 14 thick made of SA36 material.
The blank dia size for Dished End is 4 meters and is achived by butt welding of 2 Plates2500 + 1500.
The Dished End is to be 100% Radio graphed.
Is the RT to be done after welding and before forming OR after welding and forming both. OR Before and after forming.
what does the ASME Sec VIII Div say abt it??
