Dear lalit. WE have done PWHT in P4+P4 group material if thickness 16 mm in case of stub and attachment weld . But in case of piping P4 group to P4 group material thickness of groove/ butt for all thickness PWHT is necessary. Here PWHT is necessary in your case only if attachment thickness is 16 mm and material having carbon % less than 0.15%. If you know the detail please see the ASME SECOND VIII DIV -2 or PWHT -38. P4+P4. Thickness =13mm pre heat - 125 For case of fillet (range 1.6 to12 mm) P4+P4 Thickness =13mm preheat. 150 (range 9mm to 200mm). P4+P4 in case of pipe for all thickness PWHT must.
