Dear Ansari

Further to the comments given by other experts, you can try with EM12K / EH14 & Suitable Flux. But as the thickness is 70mm, you can try using Basic flux ( Non-Active Flux) to avoid C , Mn pick up , specially when you do multi pass SAW welding. In some cases, we have observed high hardness (260-280BHN) due to this pick up.

You can try with F7P2EM12K, F7P4EH14, F7P2EH10K etc.

Dear Experts

Hi ,

further can anyone suggest me that the electrode for SMAW  and Electrode and flux wire combination for SAW Process.

Details as are

1. Material - SA 516-70

2.Thickness-70 mm

3.Normalizing-  ( 920 Deg - 150 min )  +  Dress relieving ( 620 Deg - 350 Minutes ).

also please suggest that how we can choose the electrodes and fluxes for a particular weld by using ASME Section 2 Part C.
