Dear Sir
I have a PQR withASTM A131 EH 36 (Group II )-25mm at -40 Deg Impact
tested as per AWS D1.1.
As per AWS D1.1 Group No & Minimum Impact thickness is supplementary
essential variable.
So we have written a WPS based on that PQR
So as per that only group 1 material above 16mm can be weld when
impact test is required.
Now ma problem is, we have a job with 10mm thkness Grade A material(
Group I) impact requirement is 0 deg C.
Can we use the that PQR to write a WPS for this scenario....?
What Code says.....?
Or can we write a WPS for group II with thknss 10mm for impact
requirement at o deg C
Is the minimum impact thickness requirement is applicable for 0 deg C
when the pQR is tested at -40deg C.
Please advise.
regards
