Sec II-C has nothing to do with practical application. It is standardized testing program so that filler metals can be compared on an apples to apples basis.
CO2 used for GMAW (MAG) will result in a short circuiting arc transfer mode
A mix of 90%Argon – 10% CO2 will mostly like result in a spray transfer
Choice of transfer mode (shielding gas, amperage, voltage) is usually based on thickness of material to be welded.

For ER 70S-6, the shielding gas as per ASME Sec II-C , SFA 5.18 is 100% CO2. Why are you using a mixture ?? Please change your shielding gas to Co2 first and then give feedback. Regards Prem Nautiyal
