1st of all which code ur referring to?if ASME Sec 8 Div1, refer UCS 56.
Max heating rate would be 222hr/deg ~ Min heating rate would be 56hr/deg.
Max cooling rate would be 280 hr/deg ~ Min heating rate would be 56hr/deg.
 
2nd what P.no your reffering to?
Soaking time will be calculated based on thickness (Thr is table)
 
Normally hardness value will dropp after PWHT.

Dear Experts,
 
We know very well about PWHT cycle having 1)Rate of Heating from certain temperature, 2)Soaking time @ Soaking Temp. & then 3) Rate of Cooling upto the certain temp.
 
My query is that, What are the roles of Rate of heating, Soaknig time & Rate of cooling during PWHT? How we get acceptable hardness values by using these? Is there any unacceptable hardness values are found after PWHT then how will rectify?

Hi,  You are correct, Minimum refers to the one cycle for which this part will expose until final work shop PWHT. hence mill test certificate shall include this.  Max. SPWHT, refers to additional cycles of heat treatment that are reserved for future repairs during equipment lifetime.  Again, these simulated no.
