Re: [MW:10951] ASTM 514 equivalent grade material?

Dear Srini

From I did in past, it is allowed to substitute material when the following requirement/number of factors are met to the original mat'l (I notice this depends on Client Spec).
1. Carbon content
2. Sulfur composition
3. Phosphor composition
4. Mechanical properties i.e. yield strength, tensile strength, elongation and etc
5. Carbon equivalent (shall not exceed CEQ maximum) or PCM max
6. Impact test (if required by Client)

pl let me know..
wat r equivalent grade material for ASTM 514?
& where we can refer for that?
Is it only chemical composition only..
or any specs tells about this?
