Re: [MW:10701] Tensile requirements for API 5L X 65

Hallo Zaheer

I would suggest to use SFA no A5.5 for hot and fill pass. but do not use it for root, due to root crack most likely happen. this has been proved successfully in our PQR.

Dear All
we welded to establish a procedure API 5LX65 thickness 16mm material with E7016-1 and E7018-1 esab low hydrogen electrode.
some of my frient told me it is difficult to pass tensile test requirements of API 5LX65 and coupon sample may brack in weld metal.
Please guide me if you experienced this type of failure and if the coupon bracks in weld metal what value of tensile strength is acceptable?

Best Regards
Zaheer
