[MW:10651] RE: 10646] Titanium to carbon steel welding

Dear Vijay,

Why full titanium plate is used for shell. Often explosive cladded carbon steel is used. In such case you will have an Titanium liner inside and the outside is Carbon Steel so will not have any problems to connect any saddles and or other attachements.

Onderwerp: [MW:10646] Titanium to carbon steel welding

Dear Friends,

There is a requirement mentioned in our client spec about Titanium to Carbon steel welding(Attached picture have more details).

I searched for literatures on this and I found that by normal fusion welding process is not recommended.

1. Is there any way, welding can be done between Titanium and carbon steel?

2. If YES or NO(on both case), please send a evidence document to confirm(like ASME,ASTM).

This is very urgent requirement.

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Vijay
