Mr illangkumaran,
Now coming to painting, it is a method of coating to protect the substrate by means of oil based, acrylic based, water mainly for corrosion resistance.
--According to my perception coating is a deposition process which is achieved mostly by ionic deposition e.g chrome plating and painting is application by mechanical process e.g by brush, painting gun etc.
