Hi
Some contractors come to my desk and they said about same thing. since I did not see any code says about that, I said no. If the RT test result is fail, the report cannot be used to establish the PQR. I suggest you to re-run a PQR.

Dear Sir,
We have run PQRas per AWS D 1.1 -2010 n API 5 L Grade X - 65 PSL 2, Pipe OD 1219mmwall thickness 22mm. Position 6G, process SMAW welded by 2 welders.RT - Gamaray Iridium 192 used for RTOne Slag inclusion of length 40mm ie. at Top observed. Now RT is failed , so PQR is failed again to run PQR that way our third party is saying. Other segments are ok and accepted.
I have some questions in my mind that is such a large dia pipe we carried out PQR, instead of wasting time and money , whether it is possible to carryout the mechanical testing by leaving the slag portion and requalifying the welder as slag has come?If there is any applicable clause with in the code or any acceptable methods and ways please tell experts with supporting document evidence.
Thanking You,
Honesty is the best Policy
With Warm Regards,
