RE: [MW:10104] Can I use E 7018 in Pipe root runs? Wats the disadvantages?

I suppose it requires highly skilled welders to get uniform root penetration which could pass Radiography testing. For Piping it is normal practice to use GTAW for the Root Run & Next pass, & for remaining passes joint can be completed using SMAW E7018
