[MW:10332] RE: 10331] Need Advice on PQR for SDSS(UNS 32750)

Please check the Purging flow rate, any leakage of the Hose as well in the Nozzle or change totally the Nozzle and Hose.

Minimize the weld thickness (make thin weld layer).

What was the size of Specimen, 10x10 or subsize.  If you use sub size, follow the below.

Subject: [MW:10331] Need Advice on PQR for SDSS(UNS 32750)

Dear Friends,

We have conducted PQR(gtaw+smaw) for UNS S32750 SDSS plate of 10mm thickness.

GTAW filler wire used: Sandwik 25.10.4.L (AWS ER2594 )

SMAW electrode used: Sandvik 25.10.4.LR (AWS E2594-16)

In the Impact test(weld metal) we got only 8~10 joules. The client requirement is min 40Joules @51℃.

But the Impact values for BM and HAZ has more the expected.

We have maintained the interpass temp within 150℃ as per recommendation and the heat input calculated was within 0.5-1.5 KJoules/mm for all the passes.

Shieding for GTAW with Ar+2%N and also back purging was done.

What could be the reason for low value for the Toughness in the weld metal?

Regards,

Vijay
