Hi Team,

I have an observation of one the MTC of ASTM A333 Gr.6 (size -273.0x9.27 and achieved UTS- 45.91Kg/mm2. and YTS - 30.77Kg/mm2. and Elongation % is 44.80

The impact testing has been done at -45C (specimen size- 55x10x7.5) the impact values found to be 140,118,110 joules, where the required values is minimum 22J.

Please can anyone clarify the technical reason for the impact value of 140J observed just to initiate, the following reasons are identified

1. Change in temperature of test piece taken from test pit 2.any deviation in notch dimension apart from the above  reasons can any specialist gives the realistic technical reason behind it.

Regards

T.Selvakumar
