Friends,
I have few joints of Inernally FBE coated pipes CS pipes of thk>20mm.
The joint design is a single V, with internal sleeve to protect the
corrosion in the weld joint area(paint burned out area in the HAZ).The
sleeve is of a special design to withstand the welding heat and the
ends are having epoxy mastic and a pair of 'O' rings at both end to
avaoid ingress of corrosive fluid to the weld area.

In general thickness of pipe is <20mm and heat treatment is not
required. But there are few cases of higher thickness for which heat
treatment is required as per code. But heat treatment will damage the
coating inside and not possible. The welding process is SMAW down hill
which uses electrode E6010+7010.

Any alternative or practical suggestions to avoid heat treatment in
this case??
