Re: [MW:9839] WELDING PROBLEM

Hi,
         1) You did not mention because of why the work was stopped.

2)You can start the welding but before you conform with the MPI any crack is there or not.If there is no crack then u can proceed the job as per the specification.

         with thanks,

Dear All,

Presently I am working in a cross pipeline project, an unexpected problem has occurred during the production, due to which the welding had to be stopped, but there is 19 joints which has completed only the (root + hot-pass),still there is (Filler 1 + Filler  2 + Capping) balance and the joints has been left open for more than 48hrs.

My doubt is, if I want to resume the welding now ,whether I have to cut out all the 19 joints and re-weld  ?
or
Should I reheat and resume with the welding.?

If the joints has to be cut out where is it mentioned so (any applicable code)

The Pipe is = API 5L -Gr.X65
Electrodes are E6010 (Root) and E7010(Filler+ Capping)
Code : API 1104.

Kindly please suggest your expert advices on this issue.

Thanking You,

Eldho Isaac.
