If you have an UNS number for the unassigned material, then you can look at the option of equivalent P-No as per ASME. If not, QW423 states that if you Qualify using an ASME P.No material then you can use it for unassigned material having same chemical composition. But not the other way round. Else you could have the welder Qualification on the unassigned base material and use it for material of same chemical composition. unassigned material - not listed in ASME.
