Hi,

As per AWS D 1.1, You have to qualify welders on minimum 3/8" or 10mm

Dear Sir,

We made WQT for structural welder as
per AWS code by using 9mm thickness A36 plate with SMAW process, 3G
position.

What is the qualified range for plate
and pipe for this welder.

Kindly advise which test piece (pipe
or plate) and thickness/diameter should be used for WQT of the welder
to
weld 2" Dia handrails, pipe supports and lifting framing.

Thanks and Rgds,

WN
