hi,
higher value of UTS creat problems of higher hardness and less ductlity than specified value because these differerece in mechnical properites leads craking. at weld joint . Metalluregical aspects, this is not proper selection of material.
kind Regards

Subject: [MW:9317] Higher value of UTS, acceptable?
Dear all,
I have a material A350 LF2, CL1 with UTS of 724MPa (As mentioned in TC of Manufacturer).
As per ASME Sec IIA, requirement is 485 - 655 Mpa.
The higher value of UTS beyond the spec requirements is aceptable?
Thanks.
Regards,
JJ
