OK the correct answer is yes you can based on the grouping process of ASME but we all know ASME is simply a mechanical code and does NOT cover the corrosion resistance aspects ( exception the weld over lay section)
Most contractors who specify or use SDSS are utilising the material due to its good corrosion resistance properties and therefore a G48 should be carried out on the Welder Performance – As the SDSS welder performance is required at 48 degrees C the SS qualification will fail.
On ALL my projects for the Duplex families you qualify the material to be welded as the ASME in this case is too wide in its use.
To continue you also need much tighter control of the Heat Inputs , Gas shield and purge , Cleanliness , Handling , etc etc – It is not correct to group in this instance.

As per sec.IX, SS welder is Qualified to weld the SDSS, nut you check with the client spec. also, bcz they will restrict this one.
