[MW:9183] Effect of active titanium ions on carbon steel in presence of moisture

Dear experts

A 3" catalyst drain of CS has failed locally at many locations, minimum
thickness of 1.3mm against 5.5mm is observed after 1.5 months of
operation.

Service; TiCl4+MgCl2 with traces of hexane having moisture of unknown
value
Temp; 80degC max.

Press; 0.5kg

Any experiences with Ti+ ions effects on carbon steel and suitable
metallurgy under present condition is highly appreciated.
