Re: [MW:8899] Repair of pits

Dear Mr.mani,

Related with the pitting of shell plates, the NDT examination, such as ultrasonic
or radiographic examination, that will not affect the
safety of the vessel may be used as long as it will provide
minimum thickness determinations.

Refer to API 510 sec.5.7.

Hope this will suite your requirements.

Thanks and Regards,

Dear all,

In pressure vessel fabrication , contractor has repaired the pits area
in shell without getting approval from client.
Without raising NCR what are the steps and ndt activites  we can take
against this issue?

Thanks
Mani
