RE: [MW:8812] Reducing hardness of EN-24 material.

Hi Priyanka,

EN-24 steel is an unconventional steel (typically machinery steel ) which could be surface hardened and generally popular in machinery components.See the attached data sheets FYI .

What's the intended application?? accordingly you have to specify the correct heat treatment. Otherwise you would end up with products with wrong specifications.

Feel free to revert back with queries.

Thanks.

Please do annealing instead of normalising.

Dear All,

I wanted to reduce the hardness of EN 24 material. For that I employed Normalising on the material.

But the hardness increased instead of reducing.

Can U please suggest me the reasons for this and how to reduce the hardness of the material.

Thanks & Regards,

Priyanka Deshmukh.
