Hi Muniyandi,

What's the grade of stellite to be deposited??.Stellite is a brand originated from Cabot Corporation and now with Delloro Stellite, and it comes in various alloy grades such as Stellite -6, 12, 21 and on.... Stellite -6 is common, see the attached spec sheet FYI.

While depositing stellte in multiple layers ,its very possible to get cracks. If the deposition is in 2- or more layers its advisable to get a buffer layer, preferably with Nickel base alloys.

If the requirement is to deposit stellite on SA 217 WC9 base metal, then the PWHT requirements would be as per the design code. If the component is a valve and the design code is ASME B-16.34, then typically the guidelines of ASME Sec-VIII, DIV-1 would be applicable for PWHT of the component.

Thanks.
