Hi!
For LAS material ,especially higher thick joints you need to have higher thickness  and length tack weld  using larger filler dia  with longer tack, also needs to have proper stiffener thickness to compensate the distortion.Use higher side prehetaing ,post heating (DHT) for Gr22 material

we are also have the same problem before, i am suggesting you to put a
tacking bridge same material as base metal and to be tack in bevel
face and increase the preaheat temp. up to 177-180 deg. celcius
