Re: [MW:8417] Electrode Selection for X60/F60 Material

Check the  mechanical test records in PQR if the minimum tensile strength is well above the base metal minimum tensile strength, then no problems with the present WPS.

Team,

While reviewing a WPS/PQR we have following details

Material to be welded using  the below detailed WPS  is  : A694 F60

The WPS& PQR is qualified with SA 350 LF2 materiaal with following
consumables
ER 70S3 -Root
E 7018 H4 -Hot pass
EH12K - Fill& Cap
Applicable code ASME Sec-IX & ASME B 31.3
Here my question is
material to be welded is A694 F60 which is having Tensile strength of
75 KSI .The consumable is used in the PQR is not matching the strength
level hence i'm not satisfied with this selection.
My opinion is to use ER 80S3,E 8018 & EH12K.
