Re: [MW:8312] pwht

Hi friends,
To make required strength of ASTM A355 Gr P-11 , manufacturer use Q+Temper heat treatment.
PWHT above the tempering temperature  will decrease the strength of material.

thx

hi friends, in our contract specification it says, pwht temperature should be less than tempering temperature of the material (ASTM A335 GrP-11). why is this requirement. our P11 pipes have tempering temperature of 700 deg celsius ,and as per our WPS pwht temp is 720 deg celsius.. So is it okay to do pwht at 720 deg celsius. will there be any problem if PWHT temperature exceeds tempering temperature
