Superaustenitic stainless steels have the same structure as the common austenitic alloys, but they have enhanced levels of elements such as chromium, nickel, molybdenum, copper, and nitrogen, which give them superior strength and corrosion resistance and othr properties.

Subject: [MW:0] Difference between Austenite&Super Austenite stainless steel
From: limesh78@gmail.com
To: materials-welding@googlegroups.com
Dear All,
I found somewhere that 300 grades are Austenite stainless steel and UNS S31254 (Avesta Sheffield 254 SMO) is super austenite stainless steel. What is the main difference between Austenite and Super Austenite Stainless steel. On what basis some stainless steel become Austenite and some stainless steel become Super Austenite?
Regards,
Limesh
