the thickness limit for the welder will
minimum- as specified in WPS for which he is qualified
Maximum- 2*13= 26mm
But if the welder has welded a minimum of three layers (which I think he would have), then maximum limit will be as shown in the WPS for which he is qualified.

1. carbon steel plate 14 mm thickness (P. No. 1 // G. No. 2)
2. coupon to be heat treated above upper transformation temp. say around 900 deg. C.
3. charpy impact test not required.
4. only SMAW process to be conducted.
5. single 'V" joint.

Can any gentleman send me a copy of WPS-WPQ-PQR set for reference.
