Tests for soluable salts in general accordance with BS 5493: 1977, Appendix G

Chloride contamination tests for carbon steel and stainless steels shall be by Digital

Salt Contamination Meter. Allowable levels shall not be greater than 4.0microgram/cm-2 for carbon steel and 1.0 microgram/cm-2 for austenitic stainless steel.

one of my client asking salt contamination level 20mg/m2,but the paint
system they are using is exposed atmospheric service.and code saying
much higher range than this . please advice
