Re: [MW:8062] grp welding process

Baiju

GRP is thermosetting & done by laying the strength is mainly due to
the Resin and the ChoppedStrand Mat / Owen Rowings / simple strands
of glass with different orientations & build up some them can match
the strength of steel in the direction of the laying with suitable
curing .

Go to Ashland (manufacturers of this resin in US ) & Mechemco (Equally
Good Indian Brand)
for further study on resins

if you meant welding of PVC/PP/CPVC (clad type to GRP -
Thermoplastic welding ) please refer DVS 2212 Part 1 . for this
welding - all you need is a hot air gun & a piece of the same plastic
with good melt flow index .

I have to appreciate you have used the right terminology though most
of them use 'FRP' for what you intended .

BS 4944 is a good starting point ...

try referring free material from Elsevier ....

Mayank
