[MW:8107] Converting Kmet to CTOD for ECA Level 2 based on BS7910

Dear All,

I am currently performing an ECA (Level 2) based on BS7910 for a welded component. The material is equivalent to API 5LX65. I have not performed CTODs to obtain δmet, instead I have used Charpy v notch values to obtain Kmet values based requirement on Annex J of BS7910.

I understand that both are based on  different assessment routes, one being strain based and the other stress based. My dilemma is that my ECA program which I have developed is based on CTODs as a main input criteria, and it will take a lot of effort to adjust the calculations accordingly.

My question is; is there a method/equation I can use to convert Kmet to  δmet without performing additional CTOD tests.

Kind regards

Barry Gideon
