Re: [MW:7768] Welding of A312 Gr.TP321H

while welding there is a change for loss of titanium, that is why they generaly recommend for Niobium/Columbium based welding consumables

Dear All,

I need your valuable advice on following.

I need to carry out the welding of A312 Gr. TP321 H ( GTAW process) with a WPS qualified for P8- P8 material. In the WPS it is mentioned that to use ER 347 H for welding A312 Gr.TP321 H.

In ASME, section II, there is no F no classification for ER 347 H ( other filler ER308 H & ER316 H are classified in 5.9)

The filler wire is supplied by ESAB and theire Material cert is showing only ER 347 ( SFA 5.9) with carbon % .04 ( As per section II ,Carbon % for ER 347 is max .08%)

Since there is difference in C %, do I need to requalify the WPS using  the above filler ( ER 347 with C % .04)?

Thanks and regards,

Arun
