Re: [MW:7760] seam to seam welding

Dear Vasu

U can weld Tee to Reducer by doing 100% RT and 1 film each side of Long Seam. It is not allowed because there will more Concentration at seam Intersection Area if both the seams are matching than the concentration will be more. the minimum Distance between 2 long seams 5 times of thickness of the Pipe or  30deg . in Project Specification they specify the Distance.

Dear All,

pls clarify me..

During fit-up of Tee and Ecc.Reducer, due to orientation , both the seams are matching... can i weld?

why is welding between between two pipes with seam to seam is not allowed in piping?

and what is the min distance to be maintained ?

we are following 31.3.

Vasu
