Dear Parvez,

Pipe is used for mass transfer of fluids( gas and liquid) and tube is used for heat and mass transfer of fluids( gas and liquids). In certain application like fired heaters pipe may get used as tubes as fittings are available in pipe sizes only.

I can't see the difference, you need to be specific. Where does the NB or NPS come in and pipe schedules?

Difference between pipe and tube is that in case of pipe OD is fixed
and ID will change as thickness changes but in case of tube ID is
fixed OD will change as the thickness changes.
