Generaly such alloy tubes require higher force for expansion and to avoid excessive work hardening the expansion is to be carried in 2 to 3 steps. With proper lubrication. :however. Generaly welding is carried before expansion as there is chances of porosity in weld if it is carried after expansion

We are going to use Alloy 20 tubes in a heat exchanger,we will expand approx 200 mm length into grooves and then seal weld.
We have been told expansion is difficult, has anyone had any experience of this procedure.
