Re: [MW:7501] Re: MTC Review

Dear Mr. Limesh..

Certification 2 relates to non specific inspection.

Type 2.1-- Document in which manufacturer declares that the products were supplied as per purchase order condition without inclusion of test results.

Type 2.2---Document in which manufacturer declares that the products were supplied as per purchase order condition with inclusion of test results based on non specfic inspection.

Dear Herman Sir,

I heard about 3.1 AND 3.2 certificates only.

3.1 Supplied by manufacturer's independant QA/QC Wing itself(Contains Chemical test,Mechanical test,Non destructive test ,Manufacturing process,Heat Number).

3.2 Supplied by Manufacturers QA/QC Wing with third party certification(Contains Chemical test,Mechanical test,Non destructive test ,Manufacturing process,Heat Number).

ie, the difference is only third party certification. This is my understanding. If I am wrong ,please correct me.

What is this 2.2 certificate?I have no idea.

Dear Limesh,

If material was purchased at the mill as EN 10025 material and this
was also mentioned in the purchase order, including which material
type according to which part of EN 10025 because there 6 different
parts, than the mill should deliver this material according to that
specification. If it's not possible for the mill to meet those
requirements they should mention such in front.
It is not necessary to deliver material with 3.2 certificate, only
when required by purchase order. If nothing was specified the material
can confirm material properties by a EN 10204 - 2.2 certificate.

General they need to specify material code (+ edition) and material
type including mechanical properties and chemical composition. ALso
heat no. and if applicable plate numbers should be present. If any
supplement requirements are agreed in front and mentioned in the
purchase order as well than the results of those requirements should
be mentioned on the certificate as well or being available on separate
test reports with clear references to the material on the certificate.

Material always need to be marked with type and heat number by hard
stamps when 3.1 or 3.2 was requested, lot of manufacturers also stamp
there material when it's delivered with 2.2 certificate but as far as
I know this is not required.

So if material was order as EN 10025 material and this is not
confirmed on the material certificate I wouldn't accept the material.

Best regards,

Herman
