Many thanks for answers. Karthik, According to EN ISO 15607, is it possible to waive the WPS? (Please see in below for EN ISO 15607) My undrestanding for ASME codes, no way to accpet previous welding experiance. Please correct me if I am wrong. Cheers, " In EN ISO 15607, one of the methods of welding procedure qualification is by relating to previous welding experience. Many manufacturers have considerable experience in fabricating welded structures. Welded components and structures may have been supplied to end users/clients for variety of applications and have performed satisfactorily over a period of time in service. If this experience is traceable and documented this provides a route to welding procedure qualification based on this experience."

Hi there, We have a situation, our Valve contractor want to weld jachket material which is plate stainless steel TP316 Eurpian standard to LTCS cast material ASTM A 352 LCB standard. The reference welding code will be Europian standard. We asked for WPS, and they provide us WPS for CS to CS material, & SS to SS material acomponied by PQR, but WPS for LTCS to SS material. We asked for LTCS to SS material WPS and PQR, and they replied that within Europian standard they never used such WPS. My quesion is, "Is this answer is acceptable?", what I know according to ASME Sec IX, for wach welding type we should have exact WPS and PQR, otherwise is not acceptable. Could you please help me on this.
