My comment shall be seen as a continuation of the answer given below.
Reinforcement of a branch outlet on a header pipe can instead of using rings (need individual calculation and design) be made by the use of weld-o-let's. That is a standard piping component for re-inforced set-on outlets.
The use of weld-o-lets minimizes the problems with fatique on T-branches - for piping in services where fatiqe may be a problem (either due to fluctuations in flow or due to machinery vibrations).

Subject: [MW:7542] Stub-in or Stub-on
Dear All,
Thank you for clarifying reg baking....
Im working in refinery,,,I would like to know whether Stub-in or Stub-on is to be used for fittings ( 3/4th inch coupling or weldolet or sockolet ) to the run pipe? Is it the same for branch piping?
Does it depend on the class? Nothing is mentioned in the spec or drawing..one contractor is putting all fittings as Stub-on ,,the other contractor is doing Stub-in.. pls guide me.
Regards
Vasu
