R: [MW:0] EN10204 3.2 certification

As far as I know and referring to my long experience in several manufacturing companies producing boltings, fittings, valves should be normally considered as an inspection document on the singular components or raw material used to fabricate the components.

You may consult EN 10204 -2004 ANNEX A (schematic table).

The 3.2 may be requested on casting in a foundry or on forged or hot rolled nars at a Steel Plants or on bolts at a bolting manufacturers and so on.

Usually the 3.2 is issued/validated by the authorized inspection representative (of the company ) + the inspector designated by the client.

Very often is not clear the scope of the certificate and some confusion may arise on the real scope: consequently it is really important that the client define the details of inspection that is the specific requisitions, tests, reference code etc and not a generic inspection on material ! Meaning the scope.

Oggetto: [MW:7550] EN10204 3.2 certification

Dear all,
Can 3.2 certfication be applied to Valves and Pressure vessels OR can
3.2 certification be applied to "assembled' and "welded" products?
This query is due to scope defined in the standard as:
"This document specifies different types of inspection documents
supplied to the purchaser in accordance with the requirements of the
order, for delivery of all metallic products e.g
plates,sheets,bars,forgings,castings,whatever their method of
production"

I wish to have your views/interpretation/experience on above.

Regards
Aarpee
