[MW:7534] EN5817 / ISO 17635

Hi all,
One query seen on some other site. I feel it could be of interest to our members as well.

When working to the standard EN5817 - Quality levels for imperfections, it states ISO 17635 is to be used for a correlation between the quality level and acceptance level for different NDT methods. (EN5817 is directly applicable to VT only as stated in its introduction)

ISO 17635 - General rules for metallic materials (2010 version) states UT is to be performed in accordance with ISO17640 (instead of the usual EN1714) and the acceptance level to be used is ISO11666 (instead of the usual EN1712).

I am not familiar with these new ISO standards, and when I went to purchase them from the British Standards site I couldn't find them? On the French equivalent site (AFNOR) it states that these specifications are still in draught form??

Does that mean we should still be using the EN standards, which would then go against the requirements of ISO 17640. Or are these ISO standards word for word the same as the EN standards?

Has anybody come across this problem yet??

Any suggestions?
Best regards,
Shashank Vagal
