[MW:7503] Re: MTC Review

Dear Limesh,

According to EN 10204 you can also have 2.1 and 2.2 documents.

2.1 --> Declaration of compliance with the order --> Mill only
declares on a EN 10204 - 2.1 document that materials delivered are in
compliance with the purchase order, for this no test mechanical test
are required and/or specified on the document.

2.2 --> Test Report --> Mill declares on a EN 10240 - 2.2 document
that materials delivered are in compliance with the purchase order,
there will be mechanical properties and chemical composition present
on the document but those are typical values for those materials not
measured on the actual heat and often obtained from history data.

These documents can be drawn up by the manufacturer and no from
production independent Quality Department is required for such.

You are correct regarding the difference between 3.1 and 3.2 that for
3.2 a third party will witness testing and signing the certificate.
For both 3.1 and 3.2 a from production independent Quality Department
is required. All values mentioned on 3.1 and 3.2 certificates are
obtained from tests performed on the actual heat / charge No.

Regards

Herman
