Cu-Ni is for sure the cheapest solution.
Galvanised carbon steel is not suitable for offshore application in seawater service, austenitic stainless steel are also not suitable.
Other suitable metallic materials - but more expensive are: Titanium and under certain conditions also super duplex stainless steel (25% Cr).

Hi All,
Can any one tell me which is the best suitable material for Sea water application in offshore environment.Client specification shows Cu-Ni material,we are facing problem with procurement(Long lead time).So i am planning to replace it by Galvanized Carbon steel,Is it computable for Long term use.If any one have experience please share me.
I know we can use some FRP material,but still i want to go for metallic material.Please share me some of your experiences.....
