I have come across a problem related to selection of Material for Pump casing Nuts/Bolts due to the following TWO diff. cases.
We have few Pumps in SOUR Service + Non Sour Service (With NACE MR 0175 requirements applicable in Both the cases) in SS 316L Material. These Pumps are Axial split. Pump Casing material is A 351 CF3M.
· One Vendor has selected Pump casing Nuts/Bolts as per API 610 Table H.2 (Bolts : A 193 Gr B7M & A 194 Gr 2HM) : (In this case SOUR Service is not applicable , But NACE MR 0175 is applicable)
· Second vendor selected Bolts Material A193 Gr B8M but, now they want to replace with ASTM A453 Gr.660, in accordance to what specified in NACE MR0175. (In this case SOUR Service + NACE MR 0175 is also applicable)
Expert please share your opinion.
