RE: [MW:6616] Simulation of Carbon Steel Dished End Normalised After Forming

Simulation of all anticipated heattreatments are required, ln general N+2SR are sufficient, unless client has specific requirement for provision for inservice repair, if any.

Subject: [MW:6615] Simulation of Carbon Steel Dished End Normalised After Forming

Dear All,

I have Carbon Steel Dished End in which Normalising is required after
forming as per customer specifications. The thickness is 28mm due to
hydrogen service PWHT is required for 60minutes.

My Questions:

1. As the material is carbon steel and simulation is required as per
UCS 85(f), because my material is going above lower transformation
temperature. What should be the simulation cycle?

Do i need to give the SR cycle in simulation? i mean simulation of N
+SR

2. and if i have the simulation available N+SR, and i need to Re SR
the job due to shop repair. Do i need the simulation N+SR+SR or the
simulation available above is OK.
