RE: [MW:6408] COMBINED WPS & pqr

First it is not a question of combining WPS's. You can write multiple WPS using multiple PQR's. in this case either you can use the same or prepare a separate WPS with the said combination, as long as all other essential variables (such as T and t limits) as per supporting PQR's.

More than one WPS having different essential, supplementary essential, or nonessential variables may be used in a single production joint. Each WPS may include one or a combination of processes, filler metals, or other variables (QW200.4)

Subject: [MW:6404] COMBINED WPS & pqr

Dear All,

I have the following qualified WPS as per ASME sec. IX

1)  Material  Group  : P1   (pipe - without backgouging)
      Welding process  : SMAW
      Filler Metal         : E 6010 Root run and E 7018 Subsequent run

 2) Material group    : P1 (plate - with back gouging)
      Welding process  : FCAW
      Filler Metal          : E71T

Can I combine these above two WPS to weld  Pipe of material SA 106 Gr B root run with SMAW  E6010 and subsequent run FCAW E71T .

Thank you with warm Regards,
Manoj
