Re: [MW:6075] disimilar welding

Hi,

They have to do carbon steel buttweld first.
Then clad restoration of the joint with 309LMO Barrier layer and 316L for subsequent layer.

Thanks & Regards

Dear All,

My site contractor to do pipe long seam welding of SA516 GR. 70 + SS316 cladded plate material. Back chip is not accessible of this joint.

They have query, if first complete SS316 welding by using 316 electrode/ filler wire & subsequent layer will be E- 309MO & E- 7018.

Is it acceptable? I think they should do welding with E- 309MO up to carbon steel after  316 welding.

Please advice.
