Re: [MW:6046] How does 316LN differs from 316L(SA240) material properties...?

Hi,
316LN refers to low carbon & nitrogen added austenitic stainless-steel. Because of the thermo-mechanical treatments (during processing), fine scale carbonitrides are formed. This enhances the mechanical properties of the materials. Because of nitrogen addition, corrosion resistance is also improved. I will send the chemical compositions of AISI type SS 316LN.

Vaidehi Ganesan.

Dear All,

In 316LN, LN refers to ...? how does it differs from 316L (SA240) material properties?
