Re: [MW:5890] VESSEL Reinforcement pad Installation

Fellows
take care about the definition of nominal thickness for PWHT in UW-40(f) in section VIII-1.
Some welds on a vessel may require PWHT and some others no depending on the local thickness

Dear Pravin,

As you clarify in your earlier mail that PWHT is not required for vessel (Pressure Part) then there is no need of any PWHT for pad welding though its a non pressure part.

      Hi,

The Contractor is right,Normally Pneumatic test will be done of Re-Inforcement Pad of Nozzles only.In your case this is just a pad plate to avoid shell material directly welded to another kind of material. No need to do Pneumatic test on this.

      Thanks & Regards,

      Dear members,
Gas Discharge Volume Bottle (508 O.DX2083 LG) Reinforcement pad -2 nos are missing which is used for sitting the vessel on the roller support
This pad is located in between Vessel & roller Support.
      Fluid service: Gas
The Pad Re-Installation will be rectified at site.
Contractor says that there is NO POST WELD HEAT TREATMENT for this vessel also this is a saddle pad and doesn't require pneumatic test of pad which is acceptable or not.
      Pls. clarify this issue.

      Thanks & Regards,
      Praveen Kumar
